John, what strikes me as the most important part of this observation is the phrase "it still remains a game of buying, etc."
that's exactly what it reminds me of...a game, or, like Fleck says, stocks have become like pokemon trading cards.
of course the fellow is quite right...this is what the game is.
it is certainly not investing in the traditional sense of the word.
