I think coms wants to leave a leeway to leave it enough shares to remain in control of Palm. In that way they will have a say in who they want to sell Palm to in the future since lots of big companies would love to buy Palm. They want to sell Palm to a guy who will benefit coms - not to someone like Microsoft who would love to buy Palm and then bury it. If coms keeps some shares and buy some in the open market to make up to around 6% of interest, it would have effective control of the company. Otherwise they wouldn't have the power to put directors into the board.

Re:Scott-- since there is a credability issue - not that Eric has been credable his entire career, I agree it will be close to the 80%. My guess is 75% and they keep 5% to sell in the future. In reality it could be 10% or less. Until they file or you see it in your account keep your eyes and ears open for changes..

Even if Coms keeps some of the stock, Coms shareholders still in essence own it.
