Pravin, thanks for sleuthing at CompUSA and Circuit City. I went to MicroCity to buy a X6EL scanner today. They are the only San Diego build to order retailer that sells the Coppermine 733. At the checkout counter I mentioned that the CPU wars were getting interesting with rumors that Intel would introduce an 800 MHz CuMine on Monday.

Without any prompting he said that the Athlon would still be faster based on his experience with the systems in the store. I told him about my analysis of Anand's graphics card comparison which showed that an Athlon 700 would beat a CuMine 800 in the vast majority of game/video card/resolution combinations. He was extremely interested and I had to give him the URL's for SI and Anand.

BTW, the MicroTek X6EL is $145 from them. It was $249 at Fry's.
