Much of the mkt not participating in the bull since april of 1998
and esp. this year.

If we go with the thesis that this is morphing into a bear mkt. It should culminate with a
wash-out phase that sees a reduction in price and PE for the stocks in vogue, much
along the lines of the comeuppance of the Nifty Fifty in 1973-74

Most infectious diseases are not caused by anaerobic organisms.
5,000 years ago they did not describe HIV, EBV, etc. because no one appreciated that microorganisms even existed. How can you understand a viral illness if you don't even know what a virus is?? Strep is an aerobic not an anaerobic organism. Few people get gangrene and these are often mixed infections. Guess what - acute leukemia and most every other illness existed 5,000 years ago...the fact that physicians did not understand the disease process does not mean it doesn't exist. Did you know that physicians thought that megaloblastic anemia (B12 deficiency) early this century was thought to be a variant of acute leukemia?? As a point of reference in the last 17 years I have seen every variation of holistic hocus-pocus used by a number of individuals and with rare exception (folic acid, retinoic acid in particular come to mind) it is pure unadulterated nonsense in terms of causing physical benefit. There is however alot of benefit in another way - psychic...that is worth something.

OT OT OT Response

What the heck are you talking about??? "Anaerobic" means without oxygen. Not low oxygen. Anaerobic organisms count as some of our finest oldest diseases. You can include botulism, tetanus, and other nasty smelly gangrenous states as diseases caused by anaerobes. They have been with us forever. I would have to say that the vast majority of disease producing organisms are aerobic. Type A Strep--aerobic. Viruses? By their very nature, which causes them to use the cells own machinery to reproduce=aerobic.

All the "new" diseases you describe are viruses(almost all). They almost certainly existed forever, but people didn't get exposed to them because we did not travel, did not interact in such a global manner. Ebola may be new to you, but it certainly has been killing Africans for hundreds of years. Candida? Nothing to do with oxygen levels. It is ever present. It just happens to reproduce at will when you kill off the native bacteria with antibiotics.

Anyway, don't start worrying about Clostridial organisms(the nastiest anaerobes) taking over the earth. Ain't gonna happen.

Volt---OT OT OT--- not to worry.

The idea of "a relatively anaerobic state" is silly. You're talking about a relative absence of oxygen, a relative zero, which makes no sense, even in the context of microbial habitat. Look at the brighter side-- the ancient oxygen-rich atmosphere generated by the (carbonaceous age?) forests enabled high speed carnivorous insects with two foot wingspans. And if you read a newspaper from that vaunted, oxygenated 100 years ago, you'll note a terrible lot of early death from diseases which have names you'll not even recognize. We're doing much better now.
