Yes, we were first. And we have scars and profits to prove it.

This deal by MSFT doesn't sound as great as it could. Sure it helped us today. As Bernard said, it is Bill doing things to increase his monopoly . He has bought into several companies who could build or maintain this monopoly. Gates has enough funds to buy any number of companies...........and knows some will fail. I am not saying WCII will. It's Gates doing what anybody with millions will do..........buy the possibilities !!

Having said that, the buy in by Gates does give more credibility to p-p wireless etc.

I have said, some time ago, that WCII was getting in deeper debt than I was comfortable with. Others responded that Winstar had enough funds to continue on. Now, Bill R says that they need the money to do whatever. I saw pay off debt somewhere. But maybe not from Bill R.

In this whole telecom thing, ARTT ,TGNT and WCII are not in step with some of the others. The non-wireless fibre-optics, equipment manufactures etc .

Bernard ? Am I way off base ??

<< Gates strategy is to control every settop box in every system. >>

And McNealy's strategy (Java).
And Ellison's strategy (Liberate).
