Ken, that was the point of my comment. the departure of talent left a void to be filled. As a result, 3.25 billion for a company without a product is spent. How big is the market for this type of product? Corvis is supposedly ahead of the Qtera in product delivery cycle and product performance.

Ken, From the Forbes article regarding Corvis, "$2.1 billion in 1999 and more than double to $5.1 billion by 2003." is the size of the total market for WDM's. Given that, paying multi-billions for an unproven product seems steep.
