I don't intend to 'thank God' for the blessing of investing in Q. That is an absurd proposition. What about thanking the people who put in the effort and have the ability to create the company? Also the people who created the civilization with private property protected which enabled those people to invent and propagate CDMA. Thanks to Dr Jacobs, Andrew Viterbi and all the thousands of others. Even the most maniacal religious theologians don't think of their deities as something which gives them Xmas presents like some sort of Santa in the sky! Well, maybe the more maniacal of them do and maybe even most of them. A bit like Pat Robertson - Hallelujah brother, and don't forget to mail the cheque! But the rest of your post is right! 6-packs of CDMA phones and the world is changing very, very fast. IT [TM] will make a very good deity for us to kneel before IT might not allow US [TM] a choice....scary... Mqurice PS: Glossary IT [TM] = the Web in full bloom in 30 years when it has IT's own will, sentience and self-determination. US [TM] = CDNA [TM] = cyberized humans, we, us, the people, who are closely symbiotic with IT, acting as the 3D agents for IT. The current concept of puters as servants of people will subtly shift to people becoming servants of IT. In symbiosis, both are servants of each other and only exist in relation to the other. But, we will be in relation to IT in the same way that a few cells on the end of our nose are symbiotic with us now. They are, and we need them, but they can act as sacrificial cells in the event of sunburn to protect the next layer of cells. Maybe a better comparison would be the nerves in our elbow, warning us if we are leaning too hard on something. That would be our relation to IT. I bags not be a toenail or digestive tract! I want to be an eye or something good. CDNA [TM] = cyber deoxyribonucleic acid which is genetically modified DNA to the form which we select for ourselves and it's integration into cyberspace with neural implants, optic sensors and the like. No more of that grotty shambles called evolution by survival of whatever finds some weird ecological niche long enough to reproduce. Think Hagfish! What a place and form in which to find yourself born.
