hey gott,

imo, it would help. however, i still do not know that norton does not perform that task. i may have to post the question on the symantec board and see what they come back with.

soon as i finish rearranging my sock drawer.

joking, only joking...

:)

defrag swap file?

Version: Norton SystemWorks 2.0
Operating system: Windows 98 SE

hello,

does speed disk defrag the swap file? or to ask the question another
way, is optimization the same as defragging?

when i run speed disk, i select 'full optimization' and also
'optimize swap file'. but i am not clear on whether this just sizes
the file, or defrags it?

thank you!

:)

Hi Mark,
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to assist you today.

It is the same thing. If you do not select Optimize swap file, then Speedisk
does nothing to the swap file at all.

Happy Holidays and thank you for using Symantec Online Services!

so yes, norton speed disk does defrag the swap file if you have the 'optimize swap file' setting checked.
