If you're a long term player, take a serious look at what the ESSO guy is doing. Fundamentally, TCP/NOVA owned a lot of turkeys that paid great for those employees who planned to retire modestly well-to-do. By selling off these turkeys, I suspect that he is taking TCPL towards "transporter and provider" of "energy". When it hits the end-user, I don't think it's going to be regulated.
Anyway, what do I know? I'm sitting on paper formerly worth in excess of 17 beans.
Good luck,
L.

I agree that the dividend cut will bring the dividend
under the profit line and leave a good surplus of cash
to pay off debt and finance their activities. Fortunately
I was in the position to buy more, although I paid
12.10. Timing is everything. Certainly helps bring my
average price down.

And yes, if they purchased with debt, then when they sell
it is just a transfer of debt. However, the articles I
read expressed a concern that the sale price would not
match the buy price with the result that sales would
hurt TRP's bottom line. Fire sale prices just to unload
properties. The article about the Australian sale made
it seem that was not the case. They aren't giving away
the shop.
