I see that I truly did underestimate your prodigious knowledgebase, Mohan.

I am somewhat surprised that the Indian netocracy have thus far mainly confined their efforts to lobbying. I would have thought they would be actively seeding the market the way Malone, Gates and Allen have done in USA. Any guess as to who will be the emerging Broadband Rajah?

What % of homes have CATV via satellite (DBS) vs. traditional cable access?

(3) How many Indian homes have dial-up internet access?

I believe there are expected to be about a million Internet subscribers (ie, accounts) in India by March 2000, which is the end of the fiscal year. However the number of Internet users is much higher, the ratio is probably 1:4, due to things like cyber cafes and so on.. I really think there is lots of scope for ASPs in India due to this..

This number is literally growing by leaps and bounds. Even my 55 year old Mom in Chennai sends me email asking me to call her more often.
