Xpedior Announces Vice Chairman of The Chase Manhattan Corporation Will Join Board of Directors

CHICAGO, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Xpedior Incorporated, a leading provider of eBusiness solutions, announced today that Marc J. Shapiro, vice chairman for finance, risk management and administration of The Chase Manhattan Corporation, will join its board of directors upon the initial public offering of the company.

Shapiro is a member of Chase's Executive Committee. Prior to assuming his current role as vice chairman in September 1997, Shapiro served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Texas Commerce Bank (subsequently renamed Chase Bank of Texas), a subsidiary of The Chase Manhattan Corporation.

James W. Crownover, Xpedior chairman of the board, said, ''Xpedior will greatly benefit from Marc's depth of knowledge in the financial services industry and his senior executive leadership skills and judgment. His appointment adds to the growing strength of our board of directors.'

Shapiro earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Harvard University and received his master of business administration from Stanford University. In 1972, he began his career at Texas Commerce Bank in Houston where he served as chief financial officer beginning in 1977 and chief executive officer of its Houston bank beginning in 1987. In 1989, he was named chief executive officer of the statewide organization. During his tenure, the bank regained its position as one of the most profitable regional banks in the country.

Shapiro serves as a director of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation and Weingarten Realty Investors. He also serves on the boards of the Cornell University Medical College, United Way of New York City, Local Initiatives Support Corporation, Baylor College of Medicine and is a member of the Board of Visitors of the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is currently co-chairman of the Houston Music Hall Foundation and previously served as chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership.
