Apollo merger creates Asia's largest healthcare enterprise

Three hospital companies promoted by Dr Pratap C Reddy have been merged to create Asia's largest healthcare organisation.

The merger of Indian Hospitals Corporation Limited, Deccan Hospitals Corporation Limited and Om Sindoori Hotels into Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited was announced by Dr Reddy in Bombay on Wednesday.

Interesting. Are you saying it is basically a DBS system with a bootleg coaxial cable distribution overlay? Or is this shared satellite dish arrangement procured with the tacit approval of the satellite operator?

Are the "satellite TV guys" that you mention, namely ZeeTV,SunTV,Asia Net,Enadu, basically the South Asian functional equivalents of America's Hughes DirectTV and Echostar, which essentially merely provide distribution, or are these entities also involved in the production of entertainment assets as well?
