Hi Tenchusatsu; Yeah BGA is a bump technology, but the bumps are on the package. The new stuff is bumps on the chip itself, put on in the factory.

BGA packages used to be unnaturally expensive, but are now cheaper for high pin count parts. Technology marches on.

AMD looks to maybe have made a bottom, with a couple intraday higher highs and higher lows since yesterday.
