Pok‚mon to go Online

Handhelds: Nintendo has announced plans to release an Internet based Pok‚mon game for Game Boy next April.

The un-named Pok‚mon game will allow gamers to download game data from Nintendo as well as take part in multi-player games with remote players.

As yet Pok‚mon gamers can only trade characters via cables, necessitating gamers to be in direct contact with each other. Nintendo will release an adapter that turns the Game Boy into a portable Internet access terminal in conjunction with the game.

That would be an interesting online angle for THQ to get involved in.
