<<Anyway, my brother is mostly cheerful, and likes his life, and is happy to be alive, and does productive things. Terrible things happen to people, and they get on with their lives. People are pretty resilient, generally........>>

Last year I went down to the U of I campus to get some maps of the Illinois river. Got sent from building to building. Drive here, drive there. It was hot and the traffic bad and I was double pissed that I was bouncing here and there. For the 5th time I found a parking spot and as I was locking the Jeep I saw a deformed dwarf in a wheelchair. Happy as a clam, visiting with people as he went. All his problems and he was carefree and I was tooling around in a SUV looking for maps so I could use my bass boat and I was pissed? I went from pissed to so ashamed.
