Voisey's Bay has no material amount of PGEs. The silver content is about 2 ppm, which is in fourth place, economically, behind the Ni, Cu and Co. I'm sure you're right about the Russian situation with respect to current supply but the exploration potential there is the best in the world. The country is so screwed up that it may not be able to achieve anything. Ontario has excellent potential for Pt+Pd deposits.

I believe that S. Africa can increase production materially but they haven't because they control the price for the most part. Why kill a small market if you don't have to?

Implats, et al, are in Canada because of Pt+Pd assays on a property that could have grade and tonnage. Same as BHP when they did the Diamet deal. This was followed by other diamond producers from S. Africa.

S. African companies may have the added incentive to hedge their bets a bit but the River Valley prospect produced ore grade assays by way of Implats sampling.

Don't forget that.

You can politicize this as much as you want but the property produced several ore grade assays, which is unusual and is not being paid enough attention to. These people understand this and realize that this prospect could materially affect prices. They want to control it. My opinion. I'm actually long some PFN before a drill hole, which is usually a mistake. Same as I did on Starcore, which I still own.
