IP data users do not like the ATM switch because of CELL overhead and size
restriction.

ATM can handle QoS and oversubscription, where IP not.
So, the overhead you are talking about is very small price for QoS.
Doug, since you are fun of market telling you everything, why majority of large corporate IP networks are build based on ATM!!!
Why very large service providers like ATT,BT,SBC etc are not building
pure IP network and offering to GM,MSFT etc pure services based on pure IP.
Please find the answer and post it here with good explenation.
You want cheap not reliable service, you get IP.
You wnat reliability you get ATM.
Real world.

Zbyslaw

Z.O. don't get your knickers in a twist. In American English, the use of "boy" at the beginning of a sentence is an exclamation, a shortened version of "oh boy"...kind of like saying "wow". It shows enthusiasm & is not intended as a form of address.
