Hi I, Looks like I left work too early today! Nice run-up in the price. I've been reading the JBL annual report as nite-time stories recently. Makes for sweet dreams.

I remember driving by the entrance to Camp LaJuene (SP?) in South Carolina with my brother and watching the color drain from his face. This was 15 years after boot camp. He had entered the Marines in '70 after several years of beer drinking at various colleges around the country. They put him on the "fat boy's" diet and kicked his butt. Entered at about 195 Lbs; came out after boot camp at 145 Lbs. Didn't even look like the same guy.

His comment as we passed the entrance was,
"Let's get the F___ outa here and hurry!"

Best regards, Tom

Tough Guy,

Jabil launched a precision strike on the naysayers and doubting Thomases today at 4:30 EST. It was so surgical I almost expected Colin Powell to chime in. They had a full arsenal of facts and figures to deflect a few stupid questions in the Q&A. Seems like they were almost training for this conference call.

They came in a penny ahead and guided the numbers up about a nickel without provding guidance on '01. There might be some minor balance sheet concerns as DSO's ticked up from 38 to 42 days and inventory turns slowed a touch but they had adequate expanations for this IMO. Going forward they expect a little more linearity.

Valuation might be an issue at some point but they are poised for a solid year next year. They talked frequently about organic growth as opposed to growing through acquisition although some deals are likely.

I was not on the SLR call but I gotta believe this one went better. Lets see what the weenie analysts have to say tomorrow.
