That is a valid criticism, although a good deal of the article depends on the meta- analysis of the fellow from Boys Town. Of course, there is reason to be skeptical of a journalistic account, as well. But most laymen are not in a good position to follow these disputes, and must often rely on overviews to get an idea of the state of the research, overviews that may be technically deficient, but are decent summaries, relying on various informants in the field, and balanced in a presentation of the outstanding controversies......
