Good to listen to for those researching B2B. Extracted from the INVESTOR BROADCAST NETWORK WEEKLY NEWSLETTER ROBERTSON STEPHENS Marshall Senk, Senior eBusiness Infrastructure Analyst December 15, Duration 34 minutescheetahmail.com In this information-packed interview, Senk maps out the eBusiness infrastructure space, identifies several trends shaping the space, cautions about some of the difficulties in this arena, outlines his criteria for choosing the best companies, and specifically evaluates several companies. Here are a couple of the trends from his list: -real pressure for traditional companies to build online presences that are seamlessly integrated with all of the other channels in which they operate, that is, demand for customer relationship management software that can tie in all customer information from every channel. -pressure to get to market faster causing large traditional companies to make deals, often at premium prices, with companies much smaller than they would have ever considered before, for example American Airlines and Sears signing deals with BroadVision (BVSN) and Sprint giving a large chunk of business to Silknet before it was even public. Among the companies Senk evaluates in various parts of the space: Silknet Software (SILK), Siebel Systems (SEBL), E.piphany (EPNY), Broadbase (BBSW), SilverStream (SSSW), BroadVision (BVSN), Vignette (VIGN), Quest Software (QSFT), Keynote (KEYN), Interwoven (IWOV), Informatica (INFA). Senk notes that while Oracle is making noise about providing a complete suite of e-business software, there are some gaps in its suite and no one is providing the full suite yet.
