Right! QWest buys from NT! QWest also bought bunch of old-world Telcos and want to buy even more. Why? They don't have any customers to fill up their beautiful all-fibre network. Maybe they should learn little bit about billing, marketing, node-deployment, etc.etc. before you predict WorldCom, AT&T, BT, C&W;s demise.

Curtis, you are correct about the new generation networks. You are forgetting to mention that these new companies like LVLT, QWST,Winstar, KMC telecom, DBN, and several others are being built by LU, NT and so called old world guys in Chambers language. Here is one example of such a deal. Did you read this before. You need to survey your sorroundings before jumping to conclusion that new world is synonymous with Cisco. Not necessarily true. Once again Cisco will be in good shape, but not what wall street expects. As reported earlier, Level 3 Communications was expected to announce that it agreed to purchase $1 billion in Lucent Technologies equipment over five years. Level 3 Communications agreed to acquire Lucent Technologies' systems including softswitches, a Bell Labs-developed software switch for Internet protocol networks. Level 3 and Lucent Technologies also agreed to collaborate on future enhancements of softswitches and gateway products to support next-generation broadband services.
