Do we get to use our original cost base to determine the 1000% return? If that is the case, I would estimate my next 1000% return in no time at all. With a cost base of $6 after the split, I only need to pick up another 60 points after the split to pick up another 1000% return. I think the Q's stock price could pick up 60 points by the time the March earnings are released.

<<How long do you think it will take for Qualcomm to go up another 1000%?>>

I'll leave the timeframe to others, but I think the fundamentals are already in place for another 10-bagger. That is all you can ask in an investment. I had an opportunity to discuss Q's future in a group setting yesterday, and I struggled for a quick analogy. The best I could come up with was a company having an IPR lock on IP(Internet Protocol). Every switch, router, server, PC, mainframe, and now handheld device would be required to pay a royalty to this company. Q has this type of IPR potential for wireless data traffic. Comparing Q to MSFT, INTC, or CSCO grossly understates the potential.

10-bagger from here would mean $700B mktcap minimum

that would ignore all dilutive increments to share count
my guess that 10-bag total would require $900B mktcap
I say by early y2003

we now are in the midst of valuing QCOM's future business,
not next month but next couple years

the greater the probability of a given business size and dominance,
the more readily the market will afford lofty valuations,
like now

I am not saying Q is overpriced, only saying it is being priced according to its future business position (huge)

It is a much more realistic bet to hope that Globalstar goes up 10 fold.

My only worry is -- if it (GSTRF) doesn't go up 10 fold, it will most probably go to zero.

(I see no logical scenario where GSTRF is anywhere much different than above $200 or totally bankrupt).
