I have had several different CPA's, tell me different things. One tells me that I do not need to sell to claim it as a loss but to be aware that if it ever does come back, that I would owe those taxes at that time. The other one told me that my broker would probably give me a $1.00 for all my shares and then I could write it off and be thru with it altogether. I think either way will work but one way you get to keep your shares and the other way you don't. DO NOT take my word as the way to do it. Check with your tax man before you do either. Good Luck.
