Hi Goutama,

Considering the current changes going on at Gateway, with Waite lessening his day to day involvement and a new management team forming, I would think that anything could happen. Gateway may be more vulnerable to "deals it can't refuse" right now than it would otherwise be.

Gateway seems to be first in line for 700MHZ coppermines, judging by their ads. That could have been part of some deal that hasn't been publicized (in addition to the ones that have been).

Based upon a conversation with a local Gateway manager, I believe that they were going to start shipping Athlons on Dec 31, but that anything could happen now.

Gateway would be nice, but being included in the business model lineups of Compaq or IBM would be even nicer.
