Dorine,
I thought DELL helped FAST SEARCH get off the ground and even supplied some seed money to get started. I know DELL supplied the servers for their site. I thought DELL was already a stakeholder in FAST SEARCH.

Can anyone else shed light on the DELL / FAST SEARCH relationship?

Thanks,
Fez

Dorine,
Hi!!
RE: WALTHAM, Mass. (Dow Jones)--Lycos Inc. (LCOS) signed an agreement to acquire stock and warrants to purchase up to 15% in Fast Search & Transfer ASA (Y.FST), Oslo, which develops develops search, real-time filtering and multimedia
products and services for the Internet and corporate markets.

I believe we have another piece of another puzzle here Dorine...Remember FAST?????? :o) I tried prying Robert Williams about this at the briefing....Couldn't get him to budge...but, I know his eyes knew I was on to something...For those that have forgotten...FAST was working with the DELL engineers on search...Search that would permit virtually all information new to the world wide web updated each day....Currently, something like 15% is possible to access when an item is typed in....FAST will provide 100% and will allow anyone to access all new listings daily....Imagine hooking this up to DELL's 30,000 Premier Pages....Yes....Imagine that everything to all of the workers in all of these corporate accounts from the last 15 years are now DELL CUSTOMERS on the INTERNET!!!!
Remember also we are talking about possibly selling
"everything from a paper clip to a jet engine"....Tell me DELL ain't an internet company now...

Best, Kemble
