We could have demanded the terms of the settlement be confidential, which is a very common practice. As I think you know, that's not our style. Of course we also knew BW would issue a PR spinning things as best they could in their favor. Part of the "fun" of being associated with places like SI is seeing how the "other side" reacts to something you say or do (g). Personally, I was very much looking forward to how they'd try to rationalize why they caved when Safeco entered the picture and why they didn't even get so much as an apology out of us. I do think they outdid themselves that despite the fact they dropped all charges they reiterated them in the PR and declared it a victory for the free world, and then tried to lump us historically with people who actually were sanctioned for fraud. To borrow a familiar phrase: Too Funny! Fortunately with statements about how they screen their material as good as the WSJ, well, I somehow doubt people take BW very seriously now, assuming they ever did. I don't think 2000 will be a very good year for them. Just a gut feeling of course. :)
