retail brokerage reports mean nothing - the best research is strictly private and done by the asset managers whose minimums are in the millions and they get a piece of the profits - the retail stuff is garbage - see Marc Cabi a big-time telcom analyst slamming QCOM's cdma etc etc etc

buffalogrif,

A lurker emerges - I'll figure out someway to make a positive contribution to this thread, but in the mean time -here is an brokerage report...

Welcome to the thread! Being a lurker for a long time before posting, I was concerned that I would add noise instead signal to the thread. Thanks for sharing the article with us. I for one think it's a very good overview for future heldhelds. What interests me is the discussion of likelihood of different devices optimized for different users' needs. Besides smart phones and PDAs, RIM's pager and Symbol's scanner are also discussed in the article. I've seen the use of scanner in industrial inventory control, but its use for consumer shopping is very intriguing. Symbol Tech was considered for my Handheld G&K Games, and I'll keep watching it closely. I also like to hear from anyone who gets to use the scanner in the mall.
