I can't follow your reasoning. Pokemon and GB is aimed at a very focused market - (kids in their parents' cars or for use at their school breaks). I thought Piper Jaffray cited 'sluggish sales of N64' as the chief factor. The firestorm hit hard and the index I am maintaining (of 20 video game stocks) had their worst day since I started it in December 1997. The effect was magnified, IMHO, because of the conventional wisdom of selling video game stocks just before Christmas and perhaps that the leader had got ahead of itself at the same time.
