Hey Fudd: Once again you have it backwards...The sophisticated investor with a slightly bearish outlook writes calls...The sophisticated investor with the slightly bullish outlook writes puts... All other things equal, for the slightly bearish investor, writing calls is the more prudent and generally more rewarding strategy than writng puts, wouldn't even you say so, Fudd? Yes I would say your writing puts is a very unsophisticated strategy if you are bearish on AMD particularly when you could just as easily write calls which, unlike writing puts which is bullish, more accurately reflects your bearish outlook and provides greater returns if on average your bearish outlokk proves to be correct... Go back to you textbook, Fudd...Writing puts is slightly bullish, writing calls is slightly bearish...If you were consistent in word and investment strategy, you would be writing calls (i.e. not writing puts), buying puts or shorting the stock...I think you are confused not sophisticated...unless, and of course in your doublespeak, sophisticated and confused have identical meanings!
