True. But suicide bombers were not unknown, especially in that part of the world. As you note, no one's judgment is infallible and on balance Reagan was a very successful President. But he was not perfect and I think criticism in this matter was warranted as opposed to the petty foibles a lot of his critics seem to focus upon. JLA
