Oh, they used a quad Compaq 7000 series server (DEC, couldn't tell if it had Pentium Pros or Alphas!).

Don't forget, Compaq decided they didn't want to support Win2000 on Alphas. Win2000 is now only available for x86 (and eventually IA-64) processors.
