I was speaking about taking a loss to offset a gain. All you do (theoretically) in taking the loss this year vs. the next is save on the interest on the reduced taxes for one year.

I'm happy for you that you have profited in penny stocks. They are just too painful for me. BNEZ will be my last experiment in this domain, though I will hang on to the spinoffs.

BTW: I'm not sure how to account the basis cost for BNEZ considering the spinoffs. Likely the IRS will not consider it proper to put the entire purchase price into the BNEZ sale since you are not selling the same thing that you purchased.
