Concerning LU, see p 110 and 111 in revised field manual. "Lucent is a gorilla in a category that is aging" but my take on it is that this may be one of the authors rare mistakes. Any category where LU might be considered a gorilla is too small, too much of a niche to rate real gorilla status. From any reasonable macro status it is faced with effective competition from Nortel and others almost everywhere. It is against the interests of Lucent's customers to allow it to function as a gorilla, they will always want viable second sourcing. All IMHO of course..
