JZ,

GNET's stock might be up about 1000% this year but apparently the people at Barron's have not heard of it. The edition that hit the newstands today has several internet-related articles including a follow up to last years "Queen of the Net" piece on Mary "I only recommend stocks that happen to be corporate finance clients of Morgan Stanley" Meeker.

On Page 42 there is a piece called 'Net Gains-The years biggest winners (and losers) among Internet stocks.

They go on to say that they want to determine which stocks fared best or worst this year. And then they set up a few rules:

-co's have to offer web-based services or software.

-co. were publicly held all of 1999.

-have to either have started or are ending 1999 with minimum market cap of $1 billion. This implies takeouts like Broadcast.com are ignored too.

-limited to companies that are focused on the world wide web, and will ignore hardware vendors like Cisco.

Now I am a bit of a moron but which of these rules did GNET violate? Is author Bill Alpert related to Taulli? Hello is anybody home Bill? Is Abelson your mentor? With AOL, LCOS and YHOO on there I think GNET would qualify right?

Barrons took the closing price as of 12/16/99 and BVSN is #1 with a YTD gain of 1099%.

Gnet was damn close to that. Maybe beat it.

I still think Taulli is public enemy number one but Bill Alpert now hooks up with him and Lorraine Wang in the new millenium version of the Three Stooges:

Moe=Bill Alpert
Larry=Lorraine Wang
Curly=Tom Taulli
