Dorothy,

Funny, I expected the same thing, sort of like 24 hours a day, 7 days a week of snow fall. Remember the fake electric fire places from the 70's, maybe a big screen tv running WebTV to broadcast snowfall will catch on for Christmas.
There isn't any snow here just quite yet. The local mountains have some, but the skiing is lousy from what I have been told. It looks like NY has no snow either.

It looks like the New Yorkers dodged the bullet when they settle the subway strike. I can't image what New York is like when a transit strike is on, especially around Christmas shopping time. So much of the city relies on it. I would image they would have lynched the mayor if the transit went on strike. New Yorkers taking the direct approach! <g>

You too! I thought I was one of the last hold outs. To be fair it is a reasonable facsimile, but it isn't quite like home. I will be sorry to see it fade away.

I took a small partial position in SPLI Friday as a speculative Optical Networking supplier play. Low float, just entering the D-WDM business. It has laser manufacturing facilities. It was tough getting shares though, the daily volume is really, really low. It's tough to find fairly valued ones in this sector right now.

Well, off to send my Christmas cards and start the annual ritual of Christmas guerilla shopping.
