It looks like the New Yorkers dodged the bullet when they settle the subway strike. I can't image what New York is like when a transit strike is on, especially around Christmas shopping time. So much of the city relies on it. I would image they would have lynched the mayor if the transit went on strike. I will be sorry to see it fade away. I took a small partial position in SPLI Friday as a speculative Optical Networking supplier play. Low float, just entering the D-WDM business. It has laser manufacturing facilities. It was tough getting shares though, the daily volume is really, really low. It's tough to find fairly valued ones in this sector right now. Well, off to send my Christmas cards and start the annual ritual of Christmas guerilla shopping.
