I would like you to know that I was spurred by our recent discussion into tracking down some of the actual research studies mentioned. Maybe other people are doing the same- so I am grateful to everyone who mentioned a study for making it that much easier for me to find them.

And although I think some research is silly most of it isn't and most of it adds something to the body of knowledge- although not always what the researcher intended to add.

Ditto. Neither Michael M, nor Neocon, nor I stated that "the research is bunk" as a blanket statement. Most specifically, I did not say it and I grow increasingly irritated by this erection of straw men. I also have better things to do with my evening.

<<Or, look back to yesterday afternoon when Bill Vaughn took Bob's mild comment as an occasion to go off and dig up an old post of Christine's to start a political tirade,>>

Just the opposite, Daniel. Bob's comment came AFTER Christine and I started debating about the WTO, Reagan and Clinton. Nothing old about her posts and no tirade to start. If you check your facts, I'm sure you will find yourself in error.
