I agree that such change as what we are experiencing (and will continue to experience) can be unsettling and dificult to fathom and understand, however, I choose to go with the flow and not be left behind as a relic of a bygone economic era.

Teevee... I am also going with the flow until I start to start to see the threads unwind. So far the threads are holding together and like I said before it may be several years before the market finally comes to their senses but the day of reckoning will come eventually, the million dollar question that nobody knows the answer to is when. It is not unsettling or difficult to fathom... just read the 1841 book "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds", one of my all time favorites. The best chapters are the ones covering the South Sea Bubble and Tulipomania. Although these events took place hundreds of years ago the similarities to this market are down right eerie. In both cases, in the eyes of the public the rules of the game had completely changed and a new era of very long term economic growth had just started...then POP<ggg>. Since this is the JDX thread I don't want to get into a long back and forth on the very long term prospects of the market although I would happily continue the conversation on the MDA thread. Even if the market goes "POP" it will recover eventually like it always does and the people in the ground floor (Pre-IPO like JDX <gggg>) of the next big company will be the ones that come out ahead in the long term.

Just my two sense and my honest opinion...

Best Regards
KEITH

Re: Your "A corollary to that oft repeated statement is that there is something fundamentally wrong with the regulatory systems, the markets and the economy (the economic dinosaurs who repeat that mantra most frequently are the gold bugs)."
I wouldn't be too fast to discount that one. Less than a month ago several major countries signed the US sponsored "Washington Agreement" whereby they agreed to limit gold sales and it appears the US is rethinking the status of gold in the stability of currency markets. It appears the re-monetization of gold, to some degree, is in the works. It is speculated that this is driving the renewed interest and activity in gold mining exploration. I can attest to the fact that this is the case since in the area where I live, I have not seen this level of gold mining exploration activity in many years. I would be interested in hearing Claude Cormiers take on this since he writes a widely followed mining newsletter. (The Ormetal Report)
