There were studies alluded to in the article which did not prove, but which suggested, as a matter for further study, that spanking was more effective than other techniques.....Again, by invoking spousal battery, you confuse issues, and it is getting tiresome. Since I have no problem with protecting children from battery, the issue hinges on whether moderate spanking is harmful, and the best data says it is not. Therefore, there is no basis for taking an invasive stance towards those families that employ it......
