When I was working for the student writing tutorial services while completing graduate work at university, I had the (amusement, shock, horror, displeasure, agony - select one or more) of having to read quite a number of papers written by young men with football scholarships....

...and some of you think Tiny Tim's wedding was an embarrassment...

BTW, I became quite adept at maintaining a poker face while reading some of the most ludicrous essays ever written...;-}>

A quote from Bill Peterson as Oilers coach, "I can sum
up the goal for this year in one word -- Super Bowl."

A folksy quote from Bum Phillips in talking about his
being fired by the Oilers, "I got home and found that
my daughter had heard the report on the TV and had
went to bawlin'."

I just spent a stressful couple of hours with my computer. I stepped on the power cord when I was updating Norton Utilities off the net (oops). There is nothing like a little power interruption to really foul everything. When the computer rebooted it would freeze. Time after time. I couldn't get around this by booting from the floppy drive because it's not working. I could see my cyberlife flashing before my eyes.....

I eventually tried Safe Mode and figured I'd try deleting the Norton stuff, but I couldn't do that from Safe Mode. But I did discover that I could unclick some boxes in the Norton options to keep it from starting up, and that worked. Whew.
