Mark,

re retail disk price report,
I've noticed that WD, Quantum, Maxtor and Seagate all sell 10 GB drives at $129. Is that a profitable price ? I assume that is a one-platter drive.

The other common size is 13 GB. It also has a common price of $139. It seems that is definitely not a profitable price assuming they are 2-platter.

Also WD had a PR saying they will sell 20 GB (2-platter) drives for $179. Is that a healthy price considering all the costs ?

Just grasping for straws at this point.
