Yaacov-- your 2 posts sound more like a person interested in making money than either in love with cpq or look upon it as a religion. One of a minority on this thread. I too am not betting on a recovery in any acceptable time frame. I do expect it to move into the 30 range during 2000 but beyond that will take time unless MC can open the seas for it to pass through. To believe cpq is again healthy is dreamland. As Vic has stated there is no evidence! Thinking those in at higher prices are going to wait for the price to rise to their entry point is another joke. A percentage will, those in love, the believers, those with assets that preclude the thought of making money. A previous post did mention that those that have no other gains or cannot afford the losses will bail at their entry point. What was not mentioned is there are only so many in love or believers to absorb those shares without great things happening at cpq. Recent company releases indicate a 12 month quiet period for this company. Moves by others in the sector indicate there is much less interest in cpq. Correct they WERE number 1. Now they are the #1 world wide provider but all areas are being chipped away at and not only by DELL. Listen to the advice given or questions asked on TV about the sector and few look at cpq as a place to park money,, especially in the near term. Some here want to compare MC to Gerstner or Jobs. Well, MC may be great but has shown little so far. To compare him with those of a proven track record is a joke Rosen played on shareholders that cost at least $5 per share so far. Loyalty and trust have to be earned over a period of time. CPQ (EP/EM) has shattered that and nothing has been done to earn any back. I do not see a flood of investors arriving-- high volume is very indicative of traders flipping instead.
Yes, it may slowly rise, but there will also be a faster run to the gates on anything but positive news. People remember and CPQ has a shitty history for investors but traders can make a good buck... LOL! The reason I am here,,, a trade gone bad and a big one at that. Again, only due to the lies of CPQ mgmt... Sure I'll trust the new mgmt when certain they are not from the same mold as the old,, after all they were put in place by the same BOD,, or chairman...

I don't doubt that CPQ one day may rise, but when, Post mortem tua? gg
