Had I known of their protest in advance of my ticket purchase, I wouldn't have gone. What I have decided to do is to write a letter to the Atlanta Ballet explaining my situation in brief, then reviewing the performance of the scab musicians, and encouraging them (the AB) to hire union players in the future because of the enhanced production values they bring to the Ballet's performances,and indicating I will not patronize them in the future if they don't (I'll also cc the local union president). The union musicians (among the orchestral circle) are the finest players we have in Atlanta, and under performing subs do little to contribute to the "come back" the Ballet is attempting to make.
