rude.... I believe that EP's greatest transgression was complacency, as someone else here may have already suggested. Imho, he was too caught up in his fund raisers(which are fine as long as one continues to mind the shop), events in his honor praising him for his triumphs(one of which was staged by his girlfriend, as I recall), the Forbes CEO of the year '98 distinction, etc., etc. In short, he was spending too much time on non-business related activity while living on the laurels of past successes which resulted in his turning much of the power at headquarters to others. The parties are currently working together on joint development and sales initiatives in connection with this licensing agreement. The agreement is not exclusive for either party and it does not contain any minimum purchase commitments on the part of Compaq. Stinger is Be's software solution designed for the creation of appliances that deliver information and entertainment over the web.
