Maybe @Home isn't yet affordable to the average American

There is hardly an average American who cannot easily afford an extra $20/month. If they can't- I'd venture to guess they could not afford a computer either.

It is really about the *amount* of time they spend on the internet. Anyone who uses the internet more than a few times a week will see the value in broadband.

Its only a matter of time before people come to the realization how integral a part of everyday culture the internet will become. Eventually as integral as television is now.

Broadband will succeed (and @home with it) when the culture accepts it. This is why I say that the competion is not cable vs. dsl- it is broadband vs. dialup.

Color will beat Black & White- but the sooner it happens the greater the price the public will accept as "normal".

Competetion is good.
