I agree that O'Reilly's departure is unfortunate. I also agree that the potential of Corel's "Office Suite" products is overstated. I am in no way technically qualified to comment. My concern is Corel's total inability (not necessarily their fault) to crack Microsoft's stranglehold on the corporate market. Getting back to the CFO, my source basically said he had it up to his yingyang with Cowpland's tirades, and they could no longer work together. My real point is that I heard his parting had to do, among a lot of other disagreements, with Cowpland refusing to put any "brakes" on the runaway "Linux" locomotive, which he perceived (O'Reilly) to be largely hype. That's what my source said. Is it true? What other reason could there be for his abrupt departure, especially at a time when his options were finally going to pay off?
