Joana we wanted to avoid any crowds and city lights so we went behind the Doubletree Hotel in Cocoa Beach......its not the closest place you could be but at night what you want is a place where you are standing it is the darkest. The Doubletree sits in a section where the beach is by far the largest along the coast so you can get away from much of the lights from the buildings.....if you ever come stay here or the nearby Hilton.
