"Q1. What is BAPCo?

A1. BAPCo stands for Business Applications Performance Corporation and its current members include Adaptec, Amdahl Corporation, Compaq, Dell, Federal Computer Week, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, InfoWorld, Intel,
Microsoft, Motorola, NEC, and VNU Business Publications Limited (UK). BAPCo is a non-profit consortium with a charter to develop and distribute a set of objective performance benchmarks for personal computers based
on popular software applications and operating systems. BAPCo is currently headquartered in Santa Clara, CA."

A little further in the BAPCo faq :

"Q9. How will BAPCo assure objectivity? In other words, what keeps BAPCo from developing benchmarks that favor a particular vendor's system?

A9. BAPCo's method of designing benchmarks focuses on an actual PC user's level of usage. This guideline will be followed by all participating members in benchmark development groups. Participation in benchmark
development groups is open and encouraged. Each participating company receives one vote on the developed benchmark to assure objectivity."

Now.
Hows that for objectivity?
I dont see no Cyrix, Via, AMD in the "partner" list
But benchmarks are being voted for by the participating companies?
