Yup. . in orbit. I like LMG.a [Liberty Media]. . . this is a CMGI type company that is controlled by John Malone [TCI Comm] and A.T. & T. They own all or part of a vast number of internet related companies. . . with a focus on media. . .specifically movies and television.

Remember that T has big plans for broadband. . . especially as it relates to direct delivery of music, movies, video, television, telephone, video games, etc. . . .

Most recently, Liberty Media has been doing a curious thing. It has been buying up post-production houses that are used in the making of films, television shows and videos. Not just a few. . .but over the summer they bought so many, that LIBERTY MEDIA is now the largest post-production company in the world!!

Remember we discussed this months ago. . . the one that caught my attention was Todd-AO. . . This company handles the sound of many motion pictures. . .especially sound sweetening. But again, what is the reason for the huge investment in this area by LMG.a? They now own over 100 post-production rooms and dozens of soundstages, where films, video and television shows are made.

Anyway, an article came out over the weekend that focused on the valuation of LMG.a. . . saying that due to its holdings and assets, the stock was greatly undervalued. Perhaps someone can find it and post it. It is well written and gives a good perspective of what this animal is. . . however the writer is also clueless as to what EXACTLY A.T.&T., Liberty Media, GIC, TWX and a few others are REALLY up to. . . .

I suspect a first strike on the Next Generation Internet. Remember, this is the broadband internet known as "Internet 2" or I2 that has federal funding and is being worked on by the public institutional and corporate sectors. . . but it is mired in beaurocracy. . .and A.T.& T. already has everything it needs for a Next Generation Internet of its very own. . . . this would give us the benefits of the Internet 2, but would use the current internet. . . however access would be via the fibre-optic set-top boxes made by GIC for A.T. & T. And with TWX, NWS and other partners of LMG.a, there should be the critical mass of content needed to make it a success.

This is conjecture. . . but is consistent with the aggressive behavior of T and LMG.a. I believe that the purchase of TCI by T had more to do with this than it did getting cable subscribers for T. . . .the cable subscribers are merely the launching platform. . . .the pot 'O gold lies in those homes that do not have PCs. . .and will view the Next Generation Internet as just another improvement in their cable TV service. . . [remember Rosanne was the number 1 show in America for about 6 years]

Anybody know anything about SCII, they will soon change name to Net2Wireless, very catchy, it has already had a great run lately but it is off 20% today. No position, but got a tip from reliable source who is analyst from Goldman and specializes in Israeli companies. He alerted me this morning when stock was at 25, now at 20, glad I was doing research while the thing tanked. Any comments, is this a dip to buy or the beginning of the end.

Also, IWIN hit 20, could pull a MYPT, good valuation when compared to peers, very hot sector, good stock to buy on dips, i.e. on a retrace to 19, imho, (sounding like a broken record on IWIN, sorry)
