Nice move today in the equips.....VSEA is breaking out too. PRIA at an all-time high. What a Christmas present:-)

BTW, remember all of the talk on the thread of selling when we hit the 50's? Seems like ancient history now.

Samsung to Construct IC Plant in Kyunggi Province
December 20, 1999 (SEOUL) -- Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. will set up a chip production facility in Kyunggi Province.




The facility will have eight production lines, including those for 128Mb DRAMs, 256Mb DRAMs and rambus DRAMs.

Samsung said it plans to invest a total US$1.8 billion for one of the chip production lines, which will make 32,000 8-in. wafers a month. And US$2.5 billion will be invested in another production line, which will process 12-in. wafers at the end of 2001 or early 2002.

Already, Samsung has spent US$2.2 billion on its chip production facilities this year and it plans to inject another US$2.2 billion in 2000.
