Salomon Starts E-Tek, SDL Inc; Boosts JDS Uniphase Target (ETEK)

(NewsTraders.com)-- E-Tek Dynamics (ETEK) was initiated this morning with a
"buy" rating and $115
target by Salomon Smith Barney, according to a source at the brokerage firm.

Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., E-Tek makes high quality passive components and
modules for fiber
optic networks.

Meanwhile, Salomon launched coverage on another San Jose-based semiconductor
company as it
started SDL Inc. (SDLI) with a "buy" recommendation and $230 price objective.

In addition, semiconductor components giant JDS Uniphase (JDSU) had its price
target raised to $320
from $210 by Salomon, which reiterated a "buy" rating on the stock.

JDS is also located in San Jose.

Further information on the ratings wasn't immediately available.
